2017 Fall Conference


Plan now to attend the 2017 Fall Conference sponsored by The Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland! The call for presentations is open. We are searching for dynamic speakers to present clinically relevant, evidence based presentations that demonstrate the leadership role of nurse practitioners.

Be sure to state clearly how your presentation relates to the theme of this year’s conference: “2017 Pharmacology Updates.”

All applications must be submitted electronically and are due by midnight June 25, 2017. Send your completed application packet  to . Mission Statement:


“The mission of The Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM) is to ensure a sound policy and regulatory foundation that enables nurse practitioners to provide accessible, high quality healthcare to the public.”

The Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland (NPAM) is the only association in Maryland advocating solely for nurse practitioners and promoting high standards of health care delivered by nurse practitioners. Our mission also includes providing continuing education programs and the dissemination of information concerning the profession.

The Fall Conference is a key component to achieving our mission and provides an opportunity for Maryland nurse practitioners to network, learn, and be invigorated through the expertise of other healthcare colleagues.

The Fall Conference is attended by nurse practitioners and nurse practitioner students from areas throughout Maryland. Speakers inspire and advance the knowledge of participants during the sessions. Topics of interest for nurse practitioners who work in diverse work settings are delivered by subject matter experts.

This year’s theme is “2017 Pharmacology Update and will focus on prescribing practices of nurse practitioners.  Maryland nurse practitioners incorporate evidence based guidelines to safely and effectively treat patients to ensure that the highest standards of healthcare are delivered to Maryland citizens.

Please submit this application electronically to by June 25, 2017. Guidelines:


1.                   All proposals must be received no later than June 25, 2017.


2.                   This session proposal application must be completed in its entirety. Incomplete applications may be disqualified. 

3.                   A maximum of two presenters are allowed per session (exceptions will be made only in the event that you can clearly articulate why more than two presenters are necessary and how having more than two presenters will not impede audience participation).  Each presenter must submit the Bio Form and Financial Disclosure

4.                   It is the presenter’s responsibility to provide handouts for electronic posting by the designated deadline; if the presenter fails to meet the deadline, he/she will be responsible for providing those handouts to the audience.


5.                   Presentations should be designed for an audience of at least 75 participants.


6.                   Individual sessions are scheduled to last 60 minutes. Your presentation, including questions and answers, should fit within that timeframe.

7.                   All financial interests must be disclosed to participants.


8.                   Your participation is voluntary.  NPAM does not pay an honorarium or fee to session presenters. However, you will receive a complimentary registration for the day of your presentation at the conference that includes lunch and entitles you to attend other sessions. The complimentary one-day registration is limited to two presenters per session, and is only available if speakers register by the published deadline.


                9.                   Additional protocols include:

ü  Presenters CAN include their contact information in the handouts;

ü  Presenters CAN encourage participants to contact them directly if participants have any questions;

ü  NO sales (books, etc.) are permitted during the session;

ü  NO session attendee contact information will be provided by The Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland. You may pass a sign-up sheet allowing participants to opt-in to receive further information from you but MAY NOT require that information of participants in exchange for seminar materials.
