Types of Membership in NPAM

Active Member: Either (a) a Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice, or eligible for licensure, in the State of Maryland; or (b) a Nurse Practitioner licensed to practice at a health care facility in the State of Maryland operated by the federal government or otherwise not subject to State of Maryland licensing requirements.  NPAM's membership year is July 1- June 30.  Dues $200 per year.

The following membership categories and rates are not affected by the change in the membership cycle:

Senior Members: An individual who qualifies for Active Membership and has reached the age of 62.  Dues $50 per year.

Student Member: Individuals currently enrolled in a course of study which leads to licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Maryland.  Dues $55 per year.    Proof of enrollment in a full-time program of study leading to preparation as an NP must be submitted with application.

Associate/Affiliate Member: Persons or entities interested in fostering the objectives of NPAM who are not eligible to be Active or Student members. Dues: $100 per year.

Payments made to NPAM are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. Membership dues are deductible for most members as a business expense. However, NPAM estimates that 25% of the dues payment is not deductible because the IRS no longer allows deductibility of the portion of dues used for lobbying. Contributions to NPAM-PAC are not deductible for income tax purposes.
