Essential Job Functions
· Establish and maintain rapport with guests.

Health Services Government contractor is currently seeking a part-time Clinical Nurse Practitioner for a Tele-Medicine Neurosurgery Program at a Government Treatment Facility.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Master of Nursing degree and a current valid license to legally practice as a nurse practitioner in one of the 50 states in the United States, or the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. Territory.
· Completed an Adult Nurse Practitioner training program that is accredited by the applicable State Board of Nursing Examiners.
· Must possess a controlled substances registration certificate from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) IAW the laws of the state in which license is held.
· Working knowledge of military culture, customs, and procedures including military profiles and retention of Active Duty personnel.
· Shall be competent to treat adults for crisis intervention and ongoing medical management.
· Ability to effectively communicate with health providers at all levels and to provide professional assistance to health care finders in making referrals to appropriate health care providers.
· Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS). Certification must be by American Heart Association and individual must demonstrate ability to initiate CPR in event of respirator or cardiopulmonary arrest.
• Must pass required criminal history and background check as well as complete the SF 85-P (“Questionnaire For Public Trust Positions”). Current security clearance and CAC holders are preferred.
• Current certificate of health (signed by physician), immunization documentation including Hepatitis B vaccination, HIV and PPD tests (Chest X-Ray interpretation only if positive pp.)
• Surgical and/or Neurology experience a plus.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/TASKS AS APPLICABLE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
· Provides appropriate patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in accordance with acceptable Standards of Care. Attends and participates in patient care conferences, team/unit/clinic conferences, discharge planning, and staff conferences as deemed appropriate
· Maintains and documents inpatient and outpatient medical records IAW with DoD policies and procedures appropriate to the function.
· As a healthcare resource, expertly interface with clinical care team members to facilitate cost efficient and quality interventions. Make recommendations to ensure patients receive medically necessary appropriate care in the appropriate clinical setting.
Quality Improvement shall include the following responsibilities:
o Assist in quality improvement data collection and review
o Help with problem solving regarding quality improvement issues
o Participate in multidisciplinary functional groups and process action teams as needed
o Uphold established patient care and practice standards
o Participate in ongoing review of clinic policies and procedures and make appropriate revisions as required
o Review and submit reports as required
o Participate in all mandatory training
· Responds to cardiopulmonary arrest as appropriate and arranges appropriate back up from the MTF clinical staff and/or from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) as appropriate.
Schedule: approximately 27 hours per week / Monday – Friday between the hours of 6:00 am to 11:00 pm (excluding federal holidays). The exact hours of duty are TBD

Serves as a member of Quality Assurance, Credentialing and Peer Review Committees as needed and appropriate.
Requirements
Masters Degree in Nursing and a Certificate as a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with a current active unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse and FNP in the state of Maryland. Required experience of 2-5 years as a FNP with relevant clinical experience within the past 2 years sufficient to demonstrate current clinical competency for the setting of a family practitioner. Current adult and pediatric CPR Health Care Provider required. Effective communication and interpersonal skills required. Ability to communicate medical information effectively in English required. Proficiency in Spanish required. Candidates must provide 2 letters of recommendation written within the last 2 years attesting to clinical skills, with one letter from a past supervisor. Must complete full Credentialing to include: DEA, CDS, NPI and license verification.
