Mini-MidAtlantic Regional
Conference for NPs (Mini-MARC)

 

A one-day Continuing Education conference

 

 

The premier Mini-MARC curriculum will focus exclusively on Orthopedic
Assessment and Sports Medicine for the Primary Care NP.  In response
 to MARC-NP attendee evaluations, we have incorporated more joint-
specific, hands-on workshops along with information important in
managing active patients of all ages.

There is a lot to cover!

Each of these 8.5 contact hour Educational Design I Activities is
cosponsored by the Nurse Practitioner Association of Maryland and Nurse Practitioner
Alternatives, Inc.

NPAI is an approved provider of continuing education in nursing by the Maryland Nurses
Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s
Commission on Accreditation

9:00-9:45 AM   The PreParticipation Exam

Leslie Verucci, CRNP, APRN-BC, Union Hospital of Cecil County

            Emphasizing the importance of an individualized history and exam, this session will focus on important CV, neurological, orthopedic assessments and the role of documentation.

10:00-11:30  Orthopedic Assessment

Christy Crowther-Radulewicz, CRNP-A

            This session will provide a fast-pace, comprehensive overview of the orthopedic exam, with tips to insure that subtle, important indicators of pathology are not missed.

11:30-12:30 PM   Lunch session:  Pain ManagementAli El-Mohandes, MD, Center for Pain Management, Rockville, MD  

12:45-4:30P   Hands on workshop demonstrations.  Participants will be provided the opportunity to rotate to 4 separate 45-minute workshops that will emphasize demonstration, hands-on practice and a chance to interact with the experts.

·   Shoulder/elbow/hand Injury Assessment

·   Hip/knee/ankle Injury Assessment

·   Splinting/Wrapping/Bracing

·   Joint Injection

·   Playground Falls and Injuries
